If you're new here, which you might be, allow me the honor of having the privilege to inform you of the some of the most amazing displays of human craft, creativity, and conceptualization. I absolutely love suspense in shows, movies, and games - I hate it in real life, along with surprises (whole other thing). If you're a non-anime person looking for something "new" with "depth" and some sort of classic artistry, then this is it.

Anime with subtitles is like reading an animated book - visually and textually engaging. I'd argue that if you enjoy any kind of genre, there is an anime genre for it, and something right up your alley.

My favorite mangeka Naoki Urasawa changed my life. In 2010, Netflix streamed obscure anime like "Ghost Dog" (10/10) and "Hell Girl". I'd lived on both coasts and several states in the US by the end of high school (went to 3 different high schools in 3 different states) and felt pretty well-rounded socially. I was stationed at MCAGCC 29 Palms and I stumbled on "Monster" after watching Hell Girl. I don't remember what website it was on, but I remember marathoning it twice during a one of many EMV exercises. This show changed the way I viewed certain behavior and people's motivations. It inspired The Plot Calls to some degree.

This collection contains shows like Monster - horror, thriller, and suspense anime that are filled with interesting concepts, philosophy, and character/word-development and building.
